The City of Boulder, responding to the increased weekend traffic and parking problems at Chautauqua, has instituted a summer pilot program employing free shuttles and a permit and paid parking program in the Chautauqua region. Dubbed Park-to-Park, shuttle busses pick up passengers at downtown hotels and at New Vista and CU Regent parking lots every fifteen minutes between 7am and 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The free shuttle service is partly subsidized by the paid parking program. The pilot program got off to a strong start, with 1382 riders the first weekend and 1750 riders the second weekend. The City will be collecting data all summer to determine the success of the program and best ways forward.
